Yeah, time is weird. Unlike money (which we earn over time and can amass and choose when and how much to spend), time is given in full at birth, is finite, and gets spent in equal daily increments irrespective of our desires.
I imagine the man's dream is akin to the idea that we see our lives passing as we enter death, the important things fading, the younger things moving on. I hope Eric heeded the advice!
